DESIGN
While my university training is in music, I’ve never stopped learning and practicing one of my other huge loves: art + design. These days I’m hired to design almost as much as I am to line produce, and I’m grateful to do both.
WEBSITES
Sarah asked me to do a complete rebrand and new website, incorporating her wonderful personality, love of all things retro and..birds! For her logo I made hand-drawn mid-century style birds, hunted down a scripted font reminiscent of mid-century hand lettering, and added a little star as a finishing touch. I studied sixties album covers for inspiration on all the colorful graphics/icons you see. The end result was a welcoming and fun vibe - which is basically how it is to be around Sarah!
Chamber Music Cincinnati, one of the oldest such organizations in the country, was ready for a new site and brand refresh. I was thrilled to be the one to help them with this. Below is a sampling of their new logo and site.
Tommy Sheehan of Tommy Ink did the amazing branding you see here, and I was tasked with using it to build a site for Awadagin Pratt’s upcoming album release.
The client (my husband!) wanted an old-timey look reflecting his passion for restoration + old things, while also giving clients the info they need. I designed his site, logo + branding, and wrote most of the copy. I used late-19th and early-20th century signs, labels, typefaces and drawings as inspiration for his logo, and incorporated actual drawings from that era into his overall brand.
Ellen, a fabulous mezzo with an extremely busy studio and singing career, needed something that straddled both aspects of her craft (performing and teaching). I designed her site, along with her logo + branding. To figure out what aesthetic best represented her, we started with a Pinterest vision board full of colors, fonts, photos, and interior design that were inspiring. I used this to come up with her font pairings, colors, and logo.
